1️⃣ That “bleach/ammonia” smell isn’t bleach or ammonia.

It’s chlorine dioxide (ClO₂) gas, and it becomes much stronger when the treatment runs for long periods without the Aerator.
Nothing went “wrong” — that’s simply the gas at high concentration.

2️⃣ No Aerator = much longer air-out time

The Aerator forces 100% of the gas out of the water, which speeds up the process and prevents that heavy post-treatment smell.

When you don’t use one, the reaction is slower and the “pool smell” can linger for a while — totally normal, not permanent.

3️⃣ IMPORTANT: Distilled water removes the chlorine-like smell

This step fixes the heavy post-treatment odor instantly.

Just mist the cabin 20–30 times with distilled water, close the doors for 10–15 minutes, and the ClO₂ bonds to the water droplets and dissipates.
